TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. SERVICES

EMK Artistry provides professional hairstyling and makeup services. Services are provided as agreed at the time of booking your appointment (both Online or via enquiries).

2. BOOKINGS

All bookings with EMK Artistry are subject to availability. Appointments are only confirmed once the required deposit has been paid. It is your responsibility to ensure all booking details are correct at the time of your appointment's confirmation.

3. PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT

Payment of the required deposit amount constitutes acceptance and confirmation of your appointment with EMK Artistry. Prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD). Once your deposit is paid, your appointment is strictly non-refundable and non-cancellable, except under certain circumstances (please refer to clauses 2 to 4 of EMK Artistry's Booking Policy).

4. PAYMENT OF REMAINING AMOUNT

Payment of the remaining amount for your appointment is required 24 hours prior to the time of your appointment. Prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD). Once your remaining amount is paid, your appointment is strictly non-refundable and non-cancellable, except under certain circumstances (please refer to clauses 2 to 4 of EMK Artistry's Booking Policy).

5. CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING

Your deposit is non-refundable and non-cancellable except under certain circumstances (please refer to clauses 2 to 4 of EMK Artistry's Booking and Cancellation Policy). If you need to reschedule your appointment, please provide as much notice as possible. Rescheduling with EMK Artistry is strictly subject to Em's availability. 

6. LATE ARRIVALS

If you believe you will be running late to your appointment with EMK Artistry, please call 0438 872 132 and discuss options with Em. If you arrive late to your appointment, your appointment time may be reduced to avoid impacting subsequent bookings. Full service fees still apply for late arrivals. Appointments delayed beyond a reasonable timeframe may be cancelled at EMK Artistry's discretion.

7. HYGIENE, ALLERGIES AND REACTIONS

EMK Artistry uses high quality, professional products and maintains strict hygiene procedures. Em ensures a sanitiser with 70% ethanol is available for use before, during and after your appointment. Em also utilises a separate makeup brush set for each client and ensures each set is deep cleaned and thoroughly sanitised before constructing a set for use. All surface areas used by Em are disinfected and sanitised before and after your appointment. Em also utilises single use tools including mascara wands, lipstick wands and cotton tips and decants all wet products onto a sanitised palette to avoid cross-contamination. All makeup products are sanitised before and after each client. EMK Artistry also ensures facemasks and sanitiser is available to you during your appointment.

Whilst every effort is made to minimise risk, EMK Artistry requires clients disclose any known allergies or reactions to cosmetic products in preparation for your appointment. Patch testing is recommended where concerns exist. EMK Artistry cannot be held liable for any allergic reactions resulting from non-disclosure or the provision of inaccurate information. 

8. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

By booking an appointment with EMK Artistry, you agree to:

  • complete an Online Client Consultation Form prior to your appointment with Em, inclusive of providing accurate information regarding allergies, sensitivities, skin conditions, and/or medical conditions that may impact on your service/s;

  • circulating this Online Client Consultation Form to any other persons receiving services by EMK Artistry for group bookings (i.e. Bridal Parties - the form should be circulated to all Bridesmaids receiving services);

  • for hairstyling appointments, ensuring your hair is washed the day before your appointment with EMK Artistry;

  • for makeup appointments, ensuring you arrive to your appointment with a clean face with no makeup on. Em will provide skincare preparation prior to your makeup service including toner, moisturiser, and primer;

  • wearing a loose fitting top or outfit to ensure accurate colour matching and to also ensure your hair and makeup are not disrupted when changing into your event outfit;

  • follow all instructions during the appointment to maintain a safe and efficient service delivery;

  • raise any concerns if any, with Em during the service so Em can attend to them accordingly; and

  • follow any aftercare advice or guidance that is provided.
     

EMK Artistry cannot be held responsible for any issues that may occur from any products used without reasonable precaution or from the provision of inaccurate or withheld information.

9. REFUSAL OF SERVICE

Em reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a service if:

  • there is inappropriate, unsafe, or disrespectful behaviour; and

  • conditions make it unsafe to provide or continue providing services.

10. TRAVEL AND LOCATION (WHERE APPLICABLE)

Travel fees may apply to mobile services and will be disclosed prior to you booking your appointment with EMK Artistry. Clients are responsible for providing a safe and suitable working environment. Any delays caused by access issues may impact your appointment timeframe.

For all mobile appointments, the client is responsible for ensuring:

  • there is a clean workstation prepared (ideally a clear table near natural lighting where possible);

  • access to power;

  • having a clean face with no makeup on for an immediate start;

  • wearing a loose fitting top or outfit for accurate colour matching and makeup application;

  • any children and/or pets in proximity to the service location are unable to access EMK Artistry's professional kit and any other items including, but not limited to, extension cords, hot tools, lighting, sharp tools (scissors) and chairs during and after the service; and

  • a basin (sink) is readily accessible throughout your appointment.

11. IN-STUDIO SERVICES

For in-studio services with EMK Artistry, please ensure you:
arrive with a clean face with no makeup on for an immediate start. Em will provide skincare preparation prior to your makeup service;
arrive wearing a loose-fitting top or outfit for accurate colour matching and makeup application;
wash your hair the day prior to your appointment (if hairstyling services are booked).

Upon arrival at EMK Artistry's studio, please call or text Em on 0438 872 132 and Em will come out and greet you. 

12. PHOTOGRAPHY AND SOCIAL MEDIA

EMK Artistry may take photos or videos of you for portfolio and/or marketing purposes, with your consent only. You may withdraw consent at any time by notifying Em in any time in writing. 

13. GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers with EMK Artistry are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Vouchers must be used by the expiry date stated on your voucher. Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced.

14. CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS

EMK Artistry reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always remain on this website.

15. LEGAL

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of both State and Commonwealth legislation in Australia.
